Service Description

My Mum and Baby yoga classes provide an interactive yoga practice between you and your baby. I combine yoga that focuses on strengthening your body, rediscovering your core and pelvic floor, releasing tension, and balancing emotions, with yoga for your baby, which includes engaging movement and song, soothing practices and yoga poses together. In our Mum & Baby yoga classes, you will be welcomed just as you are, be that in your PJs, fresh out of the hairdressers, with a sleeping baby or a very grizzly one! Motherhood is a time when really crave and come to understand the meaning of ‘community’, and here you will find a supportive circle of mothers to hold you and share your journey with. There are no expectations of you. You could come and lie in Savasana or with your legs up the wall for the whole class, if that is what you need, and I will make sure your baby is cared for and safe. From me, you can expect warmth, acceptance, the understanding and experience that come with over 20 years as a Registered Midwife, and cake – nourishing and delicious chocolate cake! The weeks following the birth of your baby are sacred. Your body needs time to heal and recover, your emotions need time to settle, and you and your baby need time to get to know each other, bond, and establish feeding. To ensure your safety and wellbeing, my classes are suitable from 6 weeks following a vaginal birth or from 8 weeks following a Caesarean birth. Most women book onto Mum & Baby classes following their 6-week check-up. Once your baby develops into a fast crawler, you and your baby can move to my upcoming Mum & Movers class (stay in tune for future dates!).
